The Shinobi Training Camps: Are You In?

It's been a hectic couple o' months. I had two of my guys competing in a luta de noite/fight-night in Albufeira at the start of May. Then Ireland and the Icelandic vikings arrived for the 2nd annual Surf-Jitsu.
The photographic diary can be found on my Shinobi Academy Facebook page.

Oh, and did I forget to mention, I went and earned myself a purple belt from JK aka John Kavanagh (SBGIreland).

Gunnar Nelson (Jits coach, lhs) and most excellent Icelandic viking on the mat, mentoring Shinobi student Tory '10-storey' Locker aka the Hurt Locker!

Post-rolling analytics: Mónica, Ze Pedro, JK, young James

No sooner was that camp over, then along came The MMA Clinic for a long-weekend of Jits. Laugh...we had a ball! Training, nights out to eat (the steak on the stone was a particular favorite) and karaoke which turned out to be the icing on the cake!

The MMA Clinic coach extraordinaire: Mike Russell
Some of the gang were camera shy - these unusual suspects weren't!

And while we wait (over the Summer) to exhale - we gotta do it all over again in September!

Road To The Europeans Part 2

I know, I know....It's been a while since I have been blogging. And I have had a very good excuse...prep for the Europeans. Hot off the press the results as documented in photos. Accompanied by 10 Story the Shinobi Academy poster boy (that's Canadian Tory Locker for those of you who don't know), who also decided to give the competition a go. His first, but I am sure not his last!

Representing Mauro Chueng Juijitsu this time around....Bronze ain't half bad. But you know what they say...it's not over till the fat lady sings......and I will be back to take the Gold next year. In the meantime, I will be hanging up my bjj competition attire for a bit while I concentrate on my first MMA fight in Cork end of March.
